20061113 Day one – Introduction

I waked up in the morning too late to be in time for the course. Too much nightwork, but i catched a taxi and got even a cup of cofee.

We started with a short presentation of the tools, it could be interesting to try to translate the typography terminology from Swedish to English to Romanian. The teachers name is Gunar Kraatz and he is in charge of the printshop at Grafikens Hus in Mariefred, Sweden.

I made my first setting with Gill Bold, a short sentence by Mr. Einstein. “Fantasy is more important than knowledge”, sometimes hard to admit but healthy to be aware of that.

I think about setting a short text by the Swedish graphic designer Stig Åke Möller but I'am tempted to do some work with bolder and larger types on the Alphabet in general.
